Butane is a light hydrocarbon belonging to the alkane family, with the chemical formula C₄H₁₀. It consists of four carbon atoms and ten hydrogen atoms and is produced through crude oil refining and natural gas processing.
Butane is one of the primary components of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
It is highly flammable and has a flash point of approximately −60°C. Due to its suitable calorific value, butane is widely used in fuel applications, industrial processes, and residential energy applications.
